Earth Day Reminds Us to be Nice to Mother Earth
Sunday, April 23, 11am–3pm, Lafayette Library & Learning Center

If you were a hippie back in 1970 you might remember the first “Earth Day.”  Saving the Planet was not the first thing many thought of back then.  Global warming has launched an awareness about who we are and how we act.  Earth Day has been set aside to share the challenges and solutions to our environmental issues.  Do we move towards clean energy alternatives or do we continue to guzzle gas like a “drunken sailor.”  Come find out how you can make a difference with the future of our world.  Join us at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center on Sunday, April 23.  This event is produced by Sustainable Lafayette, the Lafayette Chamber, the City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.  www.sustainablelafayette.org/earth-day-2017

This year, our summer series will include a vendor market – “Shakedown Street”- along Plaza Way and an acoustic hootenanny around the campfire directly after the bands finish their set. The bands this year include cover bands featuring Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and many of the sounds from 1967.  In our final segment on Friday, June 23, we will feature Barry “The Fish” Melton and his band.  These guys were all there in the Haight back in ‘67.  Our last concert on June 30 will again feature the Lamorinda Idol finalists.  Peace, Love and Bobby Sherman!  If you remember the 60’s you probably were not there.
