Lafayette School District The Lafayette School District is a kindergarten-eighth grade district with about 3,500 students in four elementary (K-5) schools and one middle (6-8) school. The district offers a full range of services based on the needs of our students, yet the basic instructional day centers around the core subjects: Reading, Language Arts and Mathematics. As a result, the students continually score among the highest of all California students. Most will be college-bound after attending either Acalanes or Campolindo High Schools. The overall success in the district is attributed to a strong ongoing "Partnership in Education" relationship which exists among students, parents, faculty and community. Persons who will have children attending one or more of the Lafayette schools should notify the district as soon as possible to help insure that their children’s academic needs will be properly met.

Acalanes Union High School District The Acalanes Union High School District is comprised of four
comprehensive high schools serving the communities of Lafayette, Orinda,
Moraga and Walnut Creek. The two high schools that serve the
neighborhoods of Lafayette are Acalanes High school, 1212 Pleasant Hill
Rd., Lafayette, and Campolindo High School, 300 Moraga Rd., Moraga. All
of the schools of the district rank in the top of high schools in
California in terms of academic and extra-curricular offerings. The
schools pride themselves on the quality of their educational
programs that provide a solid foundation for the students of our communities.
This is evidenced by the fact that over ninety percent of our students attend college
after graduating. To keep pace with a growing population and a growing demand for a
high-quality educational experience, the schools have engaged in an aggressive
building and remodeling campaign and an upgrade in standards for benchmarks
in the curriculum. Following successful bond measure elections in recent
years, the schools now enjoy new classroom buildings, upgraded
buildings, remodeled swimming pools and a new aquatic center, upgraded
sports fields, and a new theater and fine arts
facilities . The district
has also invested heavily in wiring the schools for modern technology
and in providing computers and instruction in the application of
technology. The district is in the midst of implementing the California State
Standards in the content areas and aggressively addressing the need for
comprehensive and positive assessment procedures for data for students,
parents, and teachers. Advanced Placement courses have been added on a
consistent basis for over the past five years, and the District now
offers a complete and wide selection of advanced courses for the needs
of our students. The District is aware of the need to offer a broad
range of opportunities for our students. Therefore, there are existing
and emerging courses and pathways in career-oriented interests, such as
automotive technology, CAD drafting and engineering, and other technical
areas. The schools also offer a full range of sports teams ands clubs
and activities to engage student interests. Over 60% of the
student body joins athletic teams. The schools of the District are superior educational institutions by
every measure. A large part of this success is due to the fact that they
enjoy superior support from the community-from parents, clubs, boosters,
foundations, organizations, and business. The communities value the
schools as an integral part of the quality of life we enjoy in the
Lafayette area. For more information about Acalanes High School, visit the school district
